2021.11.28 14:17 DaSaltyChef Got back in to do the Iki DLC, change armor appearance is great but the ghost armor...
Still has that damn katana on the back! I've always hated it since it's totally useless and clips into the cape of the outfit. Ontop of that, a small oversight from the devs forced jin to cover the Sakai symbol from the Sakai armor but not on the Sakai sword kit or the ghost armor. Not a big deal since the change armor appearance gets rid of the cape for you and you can just switch the sword kit BUT Not only is the sword on Jin's back unremovable, but it still doesn't change it's look with the sword kit you switch to! I really can't believe the devs havent fixed this yet and personally it annoyingly breaks my immersion to this part of the story. You would think that as the ghost armor being the most important armor in the game that the devs would be aware about these things but apparently not.

I love everything about water. I love drinking lots of it, I love watching it flow, I love the sensation of it running through my body. I'm constantly washing my hands as a form of stimming and I always take really long showers, it feels like I'm in heaven. Does anyone relate to this?
Also, go drink water!

2021.11.28 14:17 CrisisUnderway Got offered a job as a Senior Software Engineer but scared to leave my job as a Technical Consultant.
This is quite a long post so please bear with me cause I have no idea what to do. But I will attach a tldr below.
This is a throw away account and not my main one cause I am a bit paranoid. I work for a consultancy firm and we implement a mission critical software in Banks. My current role is a Technical Consultant and my job revolves around customizing the software as per the client needs. The language I code right now in is kind of the same as info basic and the stack is also very proprietary. I also get to travel a lot (which I enjoy) and I am mostly onsite so I get to make more money that way (per diem). But I have to say that there is not a lot of new things I can learn about the product in my current company at least on the technology end.
Now I have received an offer as a Senior Software Engineer and the technology being used there is all the new leading edge stuff being used by the top names in the industry.
On paper this is what I wanted for a very long time cause I thought in my current role I was becoming a product expert(The product is the number 1 software in the world of banking) and that will limit a lot of my career prospects in the future. But now that I have an opportunity I am realising that I will have to say good bye to my travels and work as a hardcore developer and also say good bye to the extra money which is quite a significant amount.
I am also planning to give my GRE in 4 months and move for my masters next 1 or 2 years to a first world country. I live in the third world at the moment. The current job will also allow me to get extra money in my account which can also be a great supplement in my masters journey.
I have no idea what to do. I have never been to another job this will be my first ever job change as well in 4 years.
So the bottom line is do I say good bye to significant amount of money and travel for a good experience in technology before my masters or should I stick it out in the company.
Please help me get some perspective so I can make this very very difficult decision.
Tldr: Have a job implementing a mission critical software in banks. Get to travel and make more money due to per diem. Offered a job as senior software engineer at a new firm new technology no travel. Will most probably leaving for my masters in a year or 2. Should I take the job for experience? And miss out on the extra but significant money I could make in the current company for a much better experience in technology and software development?

2021.11.28 14:17 Psychological_Total8 What is your debunked theory?
With a lot of resolutions happening this year, and in the past few years, to cold cases, I’m curious; what theory did you have that has now been debunked?
Mine was solved a few years ago, but the murder of Arlis Perry. I really thought her husband was related to her death in some capacity. It had never even entered my mind that it could’ve been the security guard!
One solved this year was the murder of Kaitlyn Arquette. Based on the big fight they had, the note he seemed to have forged, and the timing of the breakup, I was so certain it was her boyfriend! There was also a connection to a criminal organization. Paul Apodaca was on the police report, but didn’t seem to be someone the police- or Kait’s mother, Lois Duncan- focused on.

2021.11.28 14:17 prodeendian How does casteism affect Dalits.
Most people often claim that Casteism only exists in rural areas. However, the difference between rural and urban areas is quite less when it comes to caste atrocities, caste based discrimination, honour killings, and inter-caste marriages. The reason behind this slight difference is not the awareness of UCs, but just the population. Majority of Dalits live in rural areas, hence cases of caste atrocities are slightly higher there. Peoples' mentality and hatred towards Dalits in Urban areas is similar to rural areas.
Caste system as a form of stratification has a stronghold in rural areas than in urban areas (but the difference isn't that huge). The caste has a more functional role in villages than in urban areas. i.e occupational mobility and the incidences of inter-caste marriages are low in rural areas, when compared to urban areas.
Honour killing cases are highest in rural areas. SC/STs are not only socially but economically weaker in rural areas, when compared to urban areas. There is a term named 'Dominant caste' it is one of the most important parts of castiesm and discrimination. The caste having numerical strength than the other castes, which holds the majority of the land and makes important decisions pertaining to the village, is the ‘dominant caste' and rules the entire village.
Casteism in rural areas affects SC/STs to a large extent. Caste based discrimination is very common amongst villagers.
The current population of India is 1,387,530,727 as of Thursday, January 21, 2021, based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations data. India population is equivalent to 17.7% of the total world population. India ranks number 2 in the list of countries (and dependencies) by population.
35.0 % of the population is urban (483,098,640 people in 2020) and rest 65% of the population is rural.
If we go with the recent population report provided by GOI, Scheduled Tribes are 9% Dalits are 20% Forward Caste are 30% Other Backward Class are 41%.
SC population in rural areas was 79.6%, and in Urban areas it was just 20.4% as per 2001 census. However, in 2011, SC population in rural areas increased to 76.4%, and in Urban areas it increased to 23.6%.
It's clear that majority of the SC/STs live in rural India. Hence, caste based discrimination in rural areas is all time high. But it doesn't mean condition is better in urban areas. There is only slight difference that too because of population.
Despite government efforts to promote education among the Scheduled Tribes (STs),their literacy rates as compared to the national average have remained low. Literacy rate of SCs according to the 2011 census reports is 2011 66.1%, whereas the literacy rate as per Census 2011 is 73 percent but for STs is 59 percent only.
In a damning reflection of how India’s most vulnerable sections continue to remain at the bottom of the pyramid, fresh data shows that the ‘lower’ castes, tribals, Muslims, and children aged below 10 are among the poorest in the country.
According to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI)’s global multidimensional poverty index (MPI), 2018, every second person belonging to the Scheduled Tribes and every third person belonging to the Scheduled Castes remains poor.
Caste dynamics permeate every aspect of life across vast swathes of India, particularly in the South Asian nation's rural areas. When it comes to sexual violence, a potent mix of caste-driven rivalries, and sometimes religion-based ones, have been the prime motivational reasons.
This was evident in February 2016 when agitation by the Jat community, a relatively well-off upper caste agricultural community demanding reservations, or quotas of government jobs, disrupted life in the northern state of Haryana.
During the violent riots, it came to light that attackers dragged out nine women, all Dalits, from their houses and subjected them to gang rape.
Dalit women, who make up 16% of India's female population, face higher risks of gender and caste-based violence and are often exposed to widespread sexual violence. At least 10 Dalit women are raped per day, and their vulnerability to rape has increased by 44% in the last 10 years, according to a report by the National Crime Records Bureau of India.
"Rape is about power. Therefore, rape of Dalit women by upper-caste men is an exercise of power. It is also how upper-caste men can imply that Dalit men were not able to 'protect' women. Hence, rape is also a contest among men".
If we collect data nationwide, we will find more people dying of “honour killings” than on the border or of an epidemic. These days, parents match the financial status of the bride and groom before agreeing to a marriage. But when it comes to marrying dalits, women are deserted and men murdered.
Inter caste marriage prevalence is almost equal in urban (10.4%) and rural areas (9.4%). Caste inequality is a feature in both rural and urban India. Caste atrocities is higher when compared to Urban areas. But the claim that Casteism only exists in rural areas is quite baseless. Majority of population live in villages this is why caste atrocities are higher in rural areas.
As long as caste in India does exist, Hindus will hardly intermarry or have any social intercourse with outsiders and if Hindus migrate to other regions on earth, Indian caste would become a world problem. – Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
